Pull off the wheels and then remove the clips/screws holding in the fender liner and pull it out of the way to get easy access to the back of the headlights. That or remove the front bumper and headlights to swap them out. Unfortunately unless you have baby arms and hands there is no way to do it from inside the engine bay or anything. Pretty annoying.

You can get the high beams out by reaching through the cut outs in the engine bay if you have small enough hands, but the rest of the lights really need to be accessed through the fender wells.

Jack the front of the car, remove a wheel, pop the 3 or 4 tabs that hold the fender liner in and to the bumper, and pull and bend it back and out of the way. Don't be shy about bending that back, the more room you give yourself the easier it is.

Also, be careful about the parking lights - there is a gap between the housing and the back and if you drop the bulb between them, you'll never see that light again.

Pulling the front bumper only takes a few minutes, then you don't have to jack the car up to remove the wheels. If you're replacing all the bulbs in the headlight assembly it would be much easier to remove the entire light and to them all at once too. You want to make sure you can get the new low beam HID bulbs in and seat them WELL in the headlights too or your beam pattern will be jacked up. Make sure you turn your low beams on and test their output before you put your bumper back on!

thanks for the tip. Is the s2000 s bumper made for easy removal? The only other car i had that had an easy to remove bumper was my old e36.

I could reach it fine from inside the engine bay/reaching around the tire. No jacking or removing here.

Maybe I just have those small hands
