Default ARP stud removal question

Alright I am down to the last part before removing the head.
I have ARP studs and I have already removed the nuts from the top. My question is do you remove the actual studs before you remove the head or leave them in the block and slide the head off? I am having difficulty trying to remove the head with them in.

Leave them in place, and just pull the head up and off. That is what they are for.

I assume your motor is still in the car. To remove them, install two of the nuts on a stud, and thighten them together. That will help you unsrew the studs from the block. I realy don't know how much room you have to work to do this, as I have only removed them once the head was removed and the motor was on a stand.

Sorry I could not be of more help this time.

Alright so I have been trying for an hour to get the head past the threads on the top of the studs. Keep in mind I am doing this head removal myself and in my apartments parking lot. Are there any tricks to rocking it off? It seems to be stuck on the threads as I can see no other forms of clearance issues. I don't want to use a pry bar, as I don't want to jeopardize the head or the block.

So whats the trick?
