Default intake problem or something else

i got a problem with my s.

i went to a chevron gas station down at hesperian boulevard to stop and get some gas... everythingwas fine at that time but when i started to go down the road, i felt something wrong with my throttle response...

as i was steppping on the gas, i felt a different response from my car... instead of speeding up, the engine sounded like it is going to die... i tried downshifting, still the same response...

so i stop to check on it... i turned the engine off and started the car again... it sounded like it was "drowning"... i tried stepping on the gas, then the engine just died...

i called a friend of mine to come over and just try to check on what happend... he drives a Z and he said the same thing happened to him, only his still revs up to 40 mph... so he was still able to drive to a shop... then the shop found out that there was a small piece of something found in cat converter...

going back to my s, we tried to open the intake and there was smoke coming out... we checked if we could find anything in there that mightve clugged up my intake, but failed to find any...

i need help on this one... it really bothers me...

thanks for any response...

Hmmm. I had a Z and a similar thing happened to me. Turned out it was the mass air flow sensor. I'm still an ultra n00b when it comes to the honda but you might just check that.

check and make sure your map sensor is hooked up. I was playing around with my car one day and unplugged it and it did the same thing.. good luck
