Default Automatic Driver's Window

Recently the driver's side window stopped automaticall going down when putting the top down and the had to keep button pushed for the window to go down all the way. The dealer said they had to reprogram the window. It is now working - does this make sense?

Yes...there's a tSB on it.

There is also a way to "reprogram" it as they did, but it's not a cure-all. The problem may return.

A new window regulator is the actual repair. All 00-02's are under the TSB 01-008, and some 03's.

If you're still under warranty, get the regulator replaced.

Glad someone asked this I've had the same problem recently. The window chooses when it wants to go up and down

Honda will sometimes replace the regulator at no cost even after expiration of the warranty. They replaced mine a few weeks ago with four years and 24,000 miles on the car. I had to press the dealer to go to AHM for approval.

My dealer did my MY01 with 43K shortly after I got it. I showed them the TSB and they approved it. I "let" them have a 45K service so that greased the wheels a bit.

Having the dealer do some service work doesn't hurt your chances for goodwill consideration.

My driver's window would only go down 1/4 of its travel so I did the up/down quick fix and since then, almost 2 years later still hasn't acted up...
