I have an '02 with a K&N CAI with about 32000 mi on it. Last night I was out driving around and the car was behaving normally. I stoped to buy gas at a BP station and then when I was about 1/4 mile away I pulled away from a stop sign the car felt like I was doing a 3rd gear start, I managed to get the car up to speed, so I just thought I messed up. At the next stop sign I was careful and the same thing happened, this time complete with back fires. These problems continued all the way back to my house.

When I finally managed to get the car home I looked it over, all fluids were o.k. It would barly rev in neutral. No CEL. The exhaust didn't smell normal to me. The gas is the only thing that I could think of. What else could it be, and what can I do? There's not way I can burn out this entire tank.

Under the car, disconnect the fuel line and let all that nasty stuff drain out.
