Default bad idle

i have a ap1(2001) with an idle issue. it doesnt happen all the time only after i get on it real hard or after a long drive. i read alot of article online where people are saying its the iac valve. the motor has 130,000 miles with megans race exhaust and aem cold air. i dont want to spend the money on the iac valve if its not the problem, can anyone share some info on this for me, any would work thanks.

What exactly is the issue? Is the idle to high, is it sputtering and nearing stall? Some more information is needed. Idle issues are usually IAC related, so perhaps the first thing you can do is clean it up and see it that resolves the issue.

my idle will only hit a 1000 rpms so its not a high idle, but when i come to a stop in neutral, it will drop to about 2-300 rpms and nearly turns off, sometimes it will turn off tho. but it wont usually do it if i have my lights on because of the load

just clean the IAC. Very good chance of a full cure. The rotary shaft is sticking.
