Default Bad PCM.

Hello everyone I am new to the community and bought my AP1 over a year ago. It drives pretty well for the most part but I have ran into a few problems. I just picked up my car from the dealership to diagnose it. my s2k will jerk back and forth hostily in low rpms (1k-3.5k) and have hesitations in higher rpms (4k-6k). The dealership said my PCM was not reading correctly. How do i fix this problem without having to buy a whole other ECU?

Any CELs? What are they?
When it was jerking violently for me, the issue was a failing coilpack. Try getting a pack to test.

Look into some of the many misfire threads. It *could* be the ECM, but I wouldn't replace that until you've tried literally everything else, and there's a lot to try: plugs, coil packs, MAP sensor, TPS, O2 sensor, weak electrical ground, and on and on. Sometimes it's more than one, so you'll replace something and it'll improve somewhat but not entirely. For example your low-rpm issues sound more like MAP/TPS/O2, while the mid-rpm stuff is often ECM/coil packs/electrical. But really any of those things could cause low or high rpm issues depending on conditions.

Best approach is to just be careful and methodical. If you have a friend with an S it can make the troubleshooting much easier by swapping in known-good parts.

Sorry for the reply after a few years The MAP sensor just needed to be zip-tied into place! Thank you for all your help!

That is a pathetic diagnosis, the ecu is not the problem.
