Come to the Dragon so I can road test your car

I had a customer in with a vibration last night. Sure enough the drivers side axle bucket was pitted. Swap cured it completely.

On the axle nut tsb...did you remove the nut completely and grease the face of the nut where it contacts the hub?

i did not when i did it 2 days ago. there appeared to be plenty of grease around the nut from when i changed the cv axle out 3 months ago

I'll come up there one day lol. i'd be a looooooong drive. but well worth it. you'd have to do springs, retainers and banjo yets. so don't push it lol

I guess one of the biggest questions i'm asking myself is, does the clutch job have anything to do with it? it started shortly thereafter. maybe when the disconnected stuff, had the tranny out and stuff, something got messed up? any connection between the two? more torque transferred to the rear end or something?

So i went to change fluids today, thought i'd goahead and try the new honda mtf and some amsoil for the diff. And thats when i noticed it

I was turning the driver side tire and the passenger side was bareley turning and then wouldnt turn with it at all. i could see the the cv axle turn a few inches and then just kinda let loose.

Passenger side the same. turned barely on the first rotations and then just kinda sat there.

Finally the would just turn independenly, once in a while once side would grab for maybe one or two rotations.

So i take it the LSD is shot? is that a seperate component, can i buy just that part, how hard is it to replace and what happens if i don't replace it. Can i still drive it....

i dont think you have a problem there. to do the lsd 'test', the car has to be in gear. this was discussed a while back. i did the same you did, on my 03, noticed the opposite wheel would barely spin with the one i was turning. trust me, throw that thing into gear, and try it again

The LSD works off a ratio.

The drift feeling could be a diff going bad.

Never seen that on a mechanical, usually clutch types.
