If you mean connection between transmission & diff
=> prop shaft.
Can you see markings on the flanges (both sides - trans & diff side) to confirm it was put back as it was?
There is NO mysterious torque multiplier.. sorry
As mentioned the "diff test" must be done IN gear.
The wheels should turn opposite without too much effort & no noise.
What sort of offset do your aftermarket wheels have?
Can you confirm the hubcentric hole in the rear wheels is ok? (64mm. or bigger)
And.. are you lowered?
(this should habe been asked before...
)
maybe when the disconnected stuff, had the tranny out and stuff, something got messed up? any connection between the two?

more torque transferred to the rear end or something?

Ok will do the test in gear today.
After the clutch was replaced i felt like i had more power. My old clutch was really worn down so i figured it may have slipped occasionally, and the new one doesnt, thats what i ment by -more torque-
yes they connected the driveshaft back the way it was.
With the new clutch came all sort of noise. i have the "buzz" now for sure, and sometimes a clunk when i'm shifting. I want to just pretend that i'm getting a little paranoid and it'll all settle once i put some more miles on the new clutch. i'm at 1300miles since install. I don't "launch" or abuse it in anyway (unless 9K rpm is abusing it ha ha ha)
The hubcentric ring is larger then the hub and the offset is..... i'm thinking 50. it was a close fit. it was a staggered setup, 18x9 rear and 18x8 in the front both with a 50 offset.
i'm purchasing a diff out of a burnt down 02 this weekend. guy said one of the seals leaks and the rubber mounts melted. So i plan on replacing all of the seals and using my rubber mounts. andybody have hard feelings towards that? I mean is there something else i should look at before using that diff?
thanks for all the supplies and answers. i really appreciate the input

Allrighty, the wheels turn in the proper opposite direction when in gear.
God i'm so tired of this car. It sounds like something might just be loose. It's a single clunk, or really loud click. When either changing direction, or straining the tranny/diff for instance accidently giving to much gas between shift. Upon engaging the clutch the car kinda jerks (normal i would think) and thats when you can hear the clunk.
What could be loose from when they took the tranny out. i wasnt there so i really dont know what to look for. just retightn every bolt down there?

Billman, is it possible that the hub or splines in the hub are bad? I'm not sure but the axle goes into the hub right? From what I understand both the hub and axle have splines and axle slides into hub. Reason I'm asking (as I have in other threads) is because I get the same sound and my axle was already replaced, nut greased and re-torqued but I too still have this sound.
ok, nuts removed, load of grease packed in between as good as possible (there was still a lot of grease there but oh well) and nut retourqued to 225. soon as i backed up - clunk. don't hear it when i drive forward anymore.
sound like maybe the entire diff is moving. it's defenintly not a click in the classical sense, more a clunk.
so no improvment
