Oem is warranties for 100 months at $97 plus you can get a core exchange from the dealership.

Unless you go lithium iron phosphate for racing which will be way pricier tough to beat!!

Honda batteries are made by panasonic which make excellent batteries or just have excellent quality control.

this is what i can find on a quick search:
http://www.autozone.com/parts/batter...30110_27319_0/
5yr warranty and $138 - core.

At that price I would just take the factory honda battery which is cheaper and a better and longer warranty (transferrable to new owner)

exactly what benefit for $50 do you get with an optima? and will it go 100 months? ...doubt it!
unless you make the jump to LiFeP04 wasting money on batteries other than oem seems pointless

Many dealers will offer or match prices. I looked at the same fitment for a Costco (Interstate) battery but the anode and cathode were reversed. Could have made it work pulling and twisting things around but for an extra $20 overall and no hassle I had the dealer throw one in. 10 minutes.

I'm very impressed with my OEM Panasonic battery. Bought my AP1 9/2003 and still have the original battery! Do the dealers use Panasonic as replacements?

Get an OEM battery from the dealer and keep the receipt in your car. They will only honor the warranty with the receipt, but its very handy to be able to go to any Honda dealer in the country and get a new battery.
