Get an OEM battery from the dealer and keep the receipt in your car. They will only honor the warranty with the receipt, but its very handy to be able to go to any Honda dealer in the country and get a new battery.
You don't even need the receipt.
They put a sticker with the month and date of purchase on the battery and any dealer will warranty that
I think you need to prove you're the original purchaser - which they can do with dealer records or a receipt. My car came with an OEM battery that died still in the warranty period but they wouldn't honor it without the original receipt.
Many dealers will offer or match prices. I looked at the same fitment for a Costco (Interstate) battery but the anode and cathode were reversed. Could have made it work pulling and twisting things around but for an extra $20 overall and no hassle I had the dealer throw one in. 10 minutes.
I put a Costco battery in our '06 and it fit just like the stock battery. Very easy swap. Plus I like the warranty that Costco has.
Since Costco switched to using Interstate batteries they no longer carry the battery that fits our cars. Honda replacement batteries are not Panasonic.
My factory Honda S2000 battery says Panasonic go figure
I have a 2007 garage queen with 8K miles and have already gone through several batteries. I'm thinking about a LiFeP04 battery just so I don't have to fuss with it.
I'd appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or particularly experiences.

I agree with windhund116 that a regular battery combined with a Battery Minder will solve your issues. I have a couple of them. I use one for my riding mower in a storage building and the other in the garage. I have a semi permanent attachment for the S2000 so I can close the hood and cover the car if I want to. I leave a paint stir stick inscribed with "Charging" and leave it on the seat so I won't drive away with the thing connected inadvertently.
I bought both at Costco.
The fused connecting end is right below the fuse box. I connect the charger there and then lower the unit and cord down through the engine by the oil filter onto the floor. I fish it out and plug it in.
When I want to go, I just unplug and drop the cord down to the floor and pull it out completely to clear the car.

Yep, in MN my S2k would sit from November until late April each year, in an unheated garage. Where I live now the winters are shorter but still pretty much sits from December through part of March. I use a battery tender and have been on the same Napa battery for 8 years now. Well worth the cost of a tender. No need to mess with LiOn batteries or anything special if you do that.
