Default Battery Tie Down Bolt

My battery was changed a year ago at Sears and I was changing the cabin air filter yesterday when I noticed the battery was not fully tied down, one end was barely on, and the other clamp down fell off. So I went to by bolts collection and found some bolts that seem to be the right size, but they will barely go on, then they get stuck:

On the right is the honda bolt, left is the other bolt. The Honda bolt goes on smooth, but the other bolt gets stuck. It was just coming to me earlier, do I need a metric bolt? Is that the problem.
(sorry for the noob question)

More than likely they used a nut with the wrong thread pitch. They are more than likely metric. Take the threaded tie down to Home Depot or Lowes and find a nut that fits.
