Default Battery Tray Rust

Pulled my dead battery today and noticed some light rust on the battery tray. Want to pull it out and clean it up before the nasty stuff spreads at all. Does anyone know if the engine bay is threaded where the 3 bolts that secure the tray screw into, or are there nuts on the underside that the bolts screw into? Want to make sure it's threaded before I remove the bolts. I don't know how I'd access the underside of that area if there are nuts involved.

Thanks All!

I had the same issue last fall.
You might consider cleaning it up and treating the area under the battery with POR-15 followed by a top coat in your colour.
Seems like a permanent fix.
