Get the actual code pulled instead of guessing what may be wrong.

^^I have had cat issues for the past 2 weeks, either the CEL means broken o2 sensor (I went though 2 in 2 weeks) or it's the fact that I don't have a cat. But I know those could be the only reasons why the CEL came on

Put a small piece of steel wool above the sensor. I've never had the probem and don't know if this would be a solution or not.' It is reasonable to assume that a disruption of hot gas flow across the sensor COULD solve the problem.

You do realize that without the actual DTC you are guessing what is wrong with the car? Get the DTC # It will look like P0xxx

It is entirely possible the CEL is not related to the Test pipe

Go to your local autozone. They don't let you borrow tool(s) anymore only if they come outside to watch you use it.

definately get the code cuz like the others said it could very well be that there is something not related to the cat that is throwing the CEL. its free to get autozone to code it and you may even be able to go to your mechanic or just a local one and they will code it for nothing. i have a mechanic that just did it for me cuz i thought autozones was wrong one time. no charge or anything.. definately worth a shot man! no need to spend money on something you may not need!
