Default Best place to tap for OI TEMP and why

GUys,

finalising my oil cooler setup, and this means I am changing sandwich plate to a mocal unit.

Got two options;

1 - install earls pressure gage fitting on the hose and tap oil temp here (will be using the OUT port, so to thats oil leaving the block, thru the sandwich plate, and then to the gauge fitting.

2 - tap via sump plug

prefer option 1 but want to know your thoughts. The reason why I am placing the temp sensor on the out port, is if i put it on the IN port, it will be reading "cooled" oil...

thoughts?

My sandwich plate had spare ports and I just used one of those, easy peasy.

What sandwich plate do you use with bonus ports? I've been looking at doing a mishimoto thermostatic plate
