Better CAI concept?
Dis-allowing product links to non-sponsors is ridiculous. I would understand the action if links were posted by someone with a vested interest in the linked product, but I don't think this is the case.
The link deleting gives the ( wrong ) impression that cthree is only interested in generating income with this site. It doesn't help that the actions seem somewhat capricious and only focused on modification vendors. How come I don't see links deleted to places that sell car-detailing equipment or tools?
You can buy great quality tools at http://www.sears.com, is this to be prohibited?

If that's the case, fair enough. It certainly wasn't clear in his post or in your edit.
Other than this blatant misuse, I do find it silly to delete links and close threads of non sponsored products.
