I have been running the PF for years without a CEL. For $150 it was worht it IMHO for one main reason. I love the throttle response with the Pro-Flow. It really gave me a good butt dyno impression

If you do this with a high flow air filter then you will have great throttle response all for under $200 with the potential to help squeeze some extra HP if you start Air/Fuel tuning.

The CEL is a first for me. If I remember correctly there were a few coolant lines to mess with and I had to adjust the voltage on the TPS after install, but that was about it.

Hope this helps...

Boy am I a mess - just addicted to messin' with my car. Thinking about starting a Twelve Step Group for modification addicts like me. "Hello, my name is John N. and I'm a mod addict. I'm SO ashamed".

Anyway, I've been looking into additional non-forced induction possibilities. Spoon makes and sells a total titaniium valve train (valves, seats, springs, etc.) and coupled w/ a Toda cams, should allow the head (not the block) to rev safely well into the 12,000 rpm range. Don't really know how much help (if any at all) that would be as to hp or torque, per se, but would sure reduce the worry about floating a valve by inadvertant over reving. Total cost would be about $2300.

As to the block, I've been following the post Hams2000 has put up regarding his Xmas project. He's getting a new block, w/ much stronger custom internals (13:1 CR) from Import Builders so he does not need to worry about wrecking his factory block. Boy, that does sound appetizing. He thinks that w/ resleeving for a bit more volume, and upgrading the head w/ custom valves and Toda cams, he'll get some 265 HP to the wheels, naturally aspirated !!! Lord, I hope he makes it.
That would be a terrific piece of work and instructive to the rest of us.
