Default Bleeding Clutch / Clutch Fluid

Hello... I'm really dumb when it comes to car stuff..
All I know is that I have a s2000 that I love very much..

I have a couple questions.

1. Is Clutch Fluid and Transmission Fluid the same thing?

2. Tomorrow I'm having the Clutch Fluid flashed.. Does that also mean having the clutch bleed? Is that part of it?

How much should that normally cost me for both?

Thank You

Also. How do I check the level of the clutch fluid?

Clutch fluid is brake fluid. Tranny fluid is completely different. If your clutch fluid is going to be flushed, they will have to bleed it.

To check the fluid, take the cap off of the smaller of the two resevoirs on the firewall, against the drivers side fender.

Here is a great write up on bleeding your clutch. Even if you dont do it yourself at least you know what they are doing to your car.

http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?t=12154 .

You should try it. It is not hard to do at all. You will need another person to step on the clutch.

Good luck.

Thanks for the step by step guide.. It looks simple. What type of fluid is needed for the clutch?

DOT 3 brake fluid. Go buy a new bottle, old bottles "go bad" and should be thrown away (disposed of properly-for all the tree hugging Prieus owners).

That thing is near empty. Is it leaking?

it looks dirty as well.

flush it well! plus look for the leak..most likely on the clutch master cyl. check behind the clutch pedal for a slow leak...+ wipe it up cuz that thing is corrosive..itll eat off the paint in a matter of weeks..
