Default block and head replacement

hey folks,

without boring you guys with a long story, i need to replace my block and head. how much do you guys think im looking at and what is average labor costs? thanks for your help.

I'm guessing here, but I'd say $10,000 for a new one installed and maybe $5-$6,000 for a used one installed.

lol.. engine cost 3-4k, labor would be around a 1,000. only takes a day to install an engine if that.

OK, $4k for a used motor and $1k to install is $5k. You can't possibly think you can buy a new motor from the dealer for $3-$4k, do you?

^ ...you can get a used motor for a little over $2k, assuming you have an ap1...made it kind of difficult by saying you need a new block and head just say a motor!

Or...contact hardtop guy and get a new long block at wholesale.
