if you're mechanically inclined and have time tomorrow, pull the head. take it from there.
I'm new to this but I'd consider myself able to do the job.

Any thing you could recommend for reference?

this was kind of helpful to me although it is missing a lot of steps..

try and get somebody to help you, preferably someone that's mechanically inclined.

I don't understand why it was two quarts low, I had the dealership change the oil.

I'm kind of doubting I would be able to file anything though, The oil was supposed to be changed either 1000 miles or 1 year ago.

Sitting doesn't burn oil and neither should 1000 extra miles.
If you are ripping through VTEC you will burn oil faster than you think. You can easily burn through 2 quarts in a single change if you are ripping on the car every time you drive it.

From your OP sounds like you were. GL with the rebuild if it turns sour.

Let us know what you find. I would think pulling the head would be way down on the list of diagnostics. I would try a few other easier things first. Removing and replacing a head should not be taken lightly. I think 2 quarts in 1000 miles is excessive, even with hard driving.

Welp, I guess I'll have to start looking for a long block.

Where's the cheapest place to get an F20C?

Time for a new engine or at least a used one. Head and most probably bottom are shot. Sorry
