Default Bogging and Lagging, need more information . . .

Hello guys,
I got a little problem, I have only about 3000 miles in my s2000, everything runs good, but my cel is on, I know it has something to do with my testpipe. I went on a trip and pushed the car to about 140mph at 7000rpm. The car felt fine when I came back, but it started to bog, the fuel cut off on me when I drove it two days later, after being parked for two days. Any similar encounter or suggestions to remedy this situation? Do you think the engine is gone? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!!

sounds to me like you need to a) verify that the CEL is due to the test pipe (seconday 02 sensor) and then b) get rid of the test pipe or get a cat simulator, and then c) clear the code and see if it reappears.

Have you tried resetting the ECU?

Yes, I have tried resetting the ECU, don't work. The car ran fine ever sense I installed the SC in my car. The problem started after I pushed the car,I think. Never DINO it yet not sure were to do it?? someone told me to that my plugs burn out,so I changing out my spark plug (cheap ones) not sure what kind to get that is good for the SC. Witch brand? and what gapping? stocks are 44 someone told me to gap it at 32 using copper plug, dose anyone know if that a good thing?? so I took it for a test drive and it seem OK not sure yet too early to tell. For the testpipe I think I would change it out to a high flow cat hopping it will turn off the CEL? thank you everyone any other ideals or tips that may cause this problem that you can think of please let me know.

Test pipes can be problematic at best. With a S/C and a test pipe, you may have cooked the end off your O2 sensor. The stock cat is already a high flow one.

sounds like you have quite a few questions; if you want to take the car somewhere that can definitively diagnose your problem and also dyno your car (important to see how the air/fuel ratio is), take it to dynospot racing in san jose. talk to lawrence.

smaller gap is usually good for forced induction; it's harder to "push" the spark across the larger gap given much denser air/fuel mix in the cylinder. my $.02 would be to take off the test pipe for now and put the stock cat back on. CEL aside, i breathe the same air as you.

Yeah, I agree with xviper on the test pipe issue. With the stock not being all that restrictive, I would definatly put the stock one back on, reset the ecu, and hope it fixes it. Also while you are at it, put in a set of NGK 7173's or a set of Denso IK24's and gap them to .032-.035. If you do all that and it still doesn't kill the CEL, then get yourself a new O2 sensor put it in, reset the ecu, and if that doesn't fix it, take it to a shop (or honda)

Oh yeah, check all your electrical connections from the vortech boxes under the dash to your ecu. Also go through and check all your vaccum lines just to be sure you have no problems there.
