bolt that connects coilover to control arm broke
I'm on buddyclub coilovers, and on the way to work today, i went over a bump, then i heard a screaching noise. I pulled over to the side, took my tire off, and noticed the coilover was just pushing down on the control arm with only a piece of the bolt still in place. The nut that is welded onto the coilover was threaded out, so i had it put on a flat bed and sent home.
Since it's my daily driver, i went to home depot with my brothers car and got another one for temp use, but it's grade 5 strength vs grade 8 like the one that was originally on there i think, so hopefully it will hold up for atleast a day till I can get it properly fixed. I told my dad, and what he's thinking of doing is just using the OEM bolts that were originally on the rear shocks, and cutting off the nut that's welded onto the coilover and using a replacement one to hold the OEM bolt in place being that the nut that's welded onto the coilover is too small for the OEM bolt to pass through.
thoughts/comments?

Good to hear
I'll definately be using the OEM bolt then, i'll be getting a nut that fits it tomorrow, I'll just have to saw off both of the nuts that are welded onto the coilovers, I only did the one that broke off tonight.
this kinda happened to me
i striped the oem bolt and the nut on the koni shock.
what i did was bought another oem bolt and filed the bolt out on the koni shock so that the bolt could pass through it. then i put a nut on the end with locktite.
i wanted to weld a new nut on but remember welding is hot and it might change the shock fluid insiude which is very bad.
the nut doesnt take too much stress as well as the bolt. as long as when it passes through the lower arm the bolt is snug with the bushing the stress is fairly minimal as the stress is on such a short area
