Default boost capability questions

How many pounds of boost can the stock engine handle? My biggest fantasy is an s2k with a turbo pumping more than 20 psi. Will rebuilding the engine ever make this even remotely possible?
Also, all you guys putting turbos on your s2k's, you rule.

A Mike Simon built S2000 motor can boost at 15-20 psi. You just need the engine management and fuel upgrades to go with it. The stock motor with no ignition timing can take about 6-7 psi on pump gas. A safe number with retarded timing has not been seen yet...but my car is finishing up it's tuning tomorrow. We expect to run around 9-10 PSI on the Speedcraft kit with eManage (with ignition harness) and 440cc injectors.

I've got 785cc injectors, an AEM, and two pulleys... an 11 psi one, and a 13 psi one... ready to throw on my Vortech SC'ed S2k.

"She canna take anymore, Cap'n!" is what I expect to hear.

skylines are a different story, they're known for holding boost. Hey, does anybody know of any good tuners in the tri-state (around NYC) area?
