BOV replacement for Comptech SC

BOV replacement for Comptech SC
I noticed that the Comptech kit comes with a Bosch 'bypass valve', which do not have the reputation of lasting forever. Can I simply replace the valve with a blowoff valve and remove the unused hose/seal off the y connect? And if so, any recommendations for a not too obnoxious BOV?
