Break In Period
Hello everyone. This is my first post on the forums, even though I have been reading up for months on end. A great place for information for sure.
Anyway, I will be getting an S2000 by the end of the week. (Lucky Me!!)
I have searched for information regarding the break in, and know much from just looking at other posts. Either way, I was hoping for some fresh information on the topic just to make sure I am getting things right. I do not have the manual, nor read it at all.
I know about the 600 miles no VTECing... as well as oil consumption. I plan to check it every few hundred miles (every fill-up or so.)
Any other information would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!

make sure you also take it easy on the clutch/tranny and brakes. everything is breaking in at the same time. make sure you twist the gas cap more than 3 clicks or you'll get a check engine light. drive the car very slowly until you have 3 bars on the temp gauge. vary your rpms on the highway, don't stay at one rpm.
oh yeah, do this as much as much you can during breakin:
on the freeway, select 6th gear. apply partial/almost full throttle and take the motor up to 5000-5500 rpm. let go of the gas completely(do not brake) and let the car slow down by it self (engine braking). this helps the oil rings to seat properly and is very good for your motor.

You already know enough to safely get the car home. As soon as you can, read the owner's manual over and it will tell you the rest of what you'll need to know. Well, most of it. For the missing bits, you'll find that here via the "search" or by posting a question. If you are a bit of a "wrenchhead", consider buying a service manual from Helminc.com
