Broken exhaust studs
So I installed my new Greddy Ti-c dual exhaust...fitment is perfect, looks awsome and its still in storage so no hearing it until saterday. My problem is this...There are three nuts that connect the exhaust to the cat. I not only stripped one of these nuts while removing it but i also managed to throughly strip one of the bolt things that the nuts go on to that are connected to the cat. Are these bolt things replaceable? Anyone ever have this happen? Sorry i dont have any pics of what im taking about but im sure you all know what i am saying.-thanks

are you talking about the studs on the cat? if so, it is possible to get a bolt in there, you will need to cut the old ones out (flush to the flange), then either drill out the hole, or punch out whats left of the stud. after that, get a grade-8 or better nut and bolt and reinstall. there is a degree of skill involved in this manuver, and it is a pain, but it is possible.

I just threw an exhaust on my friends car and one of his bolts was stripped as well. I just hammered the stud out and replaced it with a bolt/nut.
I was worried I was going to have to drill it out but was able to hammer it out with the cat on the car... not too bad

the right tool for the job helps a lot.
when the cat is cold, the nuts are near impossible to get off cleanly. My friend broke his snap-on 13mm socket with a breaker bar trying. I got a hold of another freind with an acetylene/ oxy torch. this heated them up in no time, and an impact wrench then took off the nuts without a hitch.
i too have a ti-c dual. i found it much easier to remove the exhaust by taking the cat off at the same time (replace with testpipe). the header to cat bolts are easier imo.
either way, replace all your nuts and bolts when you mount up the new one... including drilling out the cat studs.
btw, this exhaust is sex witha testpipe.

I was able to get mine out pretty easily, just some penetrating oil, hold pressure on a wrench while hitting it with a hammer does pretty good IF, that is, you don't have access to a torch

like said above...take the cat out and beat the studs out..then replace with 3 stainless bolts, a washer on the side with the head and a locking nut on the other...broke 2 of mine and did it, now I never need to worry about breaking them, well at least if I do I wont need to beat anything out again..

If you broke a 13mm socket you were using the wrong socket. 14mm is the right size for stock hardware.
Drive out the stock studs and replace. Problem solved.

the nut didnt break though, the socket did. took a torch and an impact to it afterwards and came off like nothing
