A/C does not come on any idea why the compressor may not be working?

 

There's a freon pressure sensor somewhere in the system. It won't let the compressor kick in if the pressure in the system is below a certain threshold.

Try letting _all_ freon out, then getting 2 12 oz cans from the auto parts, and the little spigot with a hose, and refill yourself.

BTW, it's fall, won't be needing much of that stuff anyway, huh?
