Default CAI w/ bypass valve or short ram???

I have to decide which I'm going to get out of aem short ram or aem cai w/ bypass valve. Which do you think is the better all around option? Does the bypass valve lose some of the horsepower gained from having the intake low to the ground? Which do you think would produce more hp?? Thanks!!!

We had that whole discussion on not needing a bypass valve. So I wouldn't get either.

But you'll get the most gains from the CAI.

I know I dont want the bypass valve I cant imagine ever driving through conditions in which I would need it but I have no choice at this point ( I have a civic that my parents paid for part of and they wont risk it) I printed out that thread and showed it to them but they still wont let me. Thanks for the opinion though!!!

It is really simple on the S2000. It just replaces the "standard" piece that connects the two pipes together, which can probably be swapped back and forth in just a couple minutes.

So do you think you lose horsepower w/ the bypass valve?

I haven't seen inner portion of the bypass valve, but if the inner diameter is similar to the standard connector, then I don't think it would reduce power. The bypass valve just allows air to flow in through it, if a certain amount of vaccuum is reached within the pipe.

I take it back. I went to www.aempower.com to look at the bypass valve. It is not smooth on the inside, so it will generate more turbulance as the air flows through it, than the standard splice.
