Default Cams...

I'm trying to explore possible options for tuning my S. I've been doing research on this now for a bit and nothing comes up on cams really.

Was wondering if they make a significant difference from the stockers.

I'm asking because I just recently got my car tuned and I have K&N intake, TP, and 63mm exhaust... and after about 6700 RPM, the torque curve starts to die down a bit. Seems like that the car is being starved of air at the top (I think at least).

Would cams do anything to help this out? The tuner found about 20 hp & 20 tq at around 6000 RPM, but the top end didn't have as good results.

Negative. Cams are useless on our car without major engine changes.

There has to be something that would increase airflow at the top end.

Do you think that the intake manifold has enough volume to transfer the required amount of air to feed the engine?

Basically... would a larger intake manifold supply that required air?

I could be wrong about the engine seems to be starved of air, but that makes complete sense to me.

Your best bet for finding power is stripping down the head and going to work on it. There's more power there than you'll find by just throwing on some cams alone.

buy gears instead if you don't already have them.
