Bought a new s2000, ap1 with 72k miles. Its turbocharged, and has some other aftermarket parts. I even found round cylinders added to the dust shields to add brake cooling. Im thinking someone HAD to have been knowledgeable enough at some point to change to AP2 retainers....

even if i just take 1 apart, and inspect it.. any solid way to tell?

I took pictures, im 99.9 positive it's does have ap2 retainers, can anyone verify?

billman thanks, yeah those sharp valleys in the intake side... know they wernt ap1....


either way i just blew 2nd gear into pieces sooo, time for a trans swap. Should have her back up by sat.


the saddest part is the guy who sold it to me barely drove it the last few years and there's rust all over the valvetrain .......
