Hi
Can someone tell me what that red hose attached to battery is?
Before I purchase this car I just want to find out what that is and what modification has done to this car.
Thank you
I think that is just a fuse link in a power wire for the sound system. It does not connect directly back to ground like a cap would and is entirely too small to do any good if it were a cap. Actually, even the very large caps many times do very little good in these applications.
My only concern was how well they added any aftermarket wiring. that is one thing people screw up a LOT. So look at it closely, including any wiring at the amp to make sure all connections look secure.
Agree will Billman on the intake, that is likely worse than stock since it does not have any sort of enclosure to block out engine bay heat. And it is zip tied around the cross member with huge zip ties it appears lol.
The dip stick is in backwards meaning it has been popping out on him. This a lot of times is just worn out o-rings on the dip stick, but also can be due to a plugged PCV system (replace PCV) or worse would be excess blowby causing increased pressure in the crank case. People turn them around like that since the other side ofthe dipstick handle will hold it in better against the valve cover.
What is up with the other valve cover vent??? He has a hose, running into a larger hose, from the intake attache to the port (wrong size hose so he slipped one into the other??? And the original hose is just sitting there with the clamps pushed back on it. Not sure why the paint is all gone from the valve cover right where that hose is sitting either.
Maybe it is just the intake related stuff that is all janky on it, but I would look everything over and ask lots of questions on what the owner did, because that makes me concerned of anything on the car they modded themselves. I know you were only asking about the wiring, but those other items warrant a discussion before purchase!
I got some more bonus spotting
The worm clamp connecting the upper radiator hose to the radiator is not OEM and the hose also looks like it has been replaced.
Also oil filter is not an OEM one, this can actually be pretty serious problem.
