never had that problem on my my05, but on my old beater 4 runner i used to have, sometimes it wouldnt go into 1st gear so i would clutch in press it up to the gate and slowly release the clutch and it would "suck" it into gear. You might try the dealer though, on a new car like that, it shouldnt do that.

Sounds like a tranny overhaul is in your future.

The gear is stiff when cold. I found that I could only put in 1st gear when car is not moving and engine idle. If car is moving and you want to put to first, give it a little gas to say 2k rpm, then it slides right in.

Again, it is necessary only when car is not warmed up yet.

im having similar problems as well, but its in all gears; might be a tranny issue. Sometimes it wont go into gear period when the car is on; off i can shift into all gears. I literally have to sometimes force that shit in to the point where i think im going to break something. I really just have to get lucky when it goes into gear now. Car is MY00 with 130K miles, lol, but clutch does not slip at all;checked that as well, just not engaging really.........any help?? Changed all fluids, re-bled the lines, searched all over, but no real answers just yet........Thinking i might just need a whole new transmission, but trying to avoid that.

The fact that you can shift into any gear with the engine off may be an indication that your clutch isn't fully disengaging. Are you sure you have bled the clutch properly, thoroughly and with the right fluid? If so, then you might try to adjust the clutch pedal so that it disengages the clutch more when you push it to the floor.
Also, with that many miles on the car, how old is the actual clutch? Has it been replaced lately. It could also be worn to the point where it's grabbing badly due to being close to the rivets.
