Default Can't For the Life of Me Find this Part - Trans Bolt

Maybe I'm just brain dead, I don't know at this point but all I want is to get my damn car re-assembled. I've been to 6 shops locally and literally none of them stocked this bolt; I even called the closest stealership and they said they'd have to order it (and the parts guy sounded like he couldn't figure out what bolt it was).

I'm looking for the 17mm bolt that sits on the top of the transmission bell housing and bolts into the engine block. It's one of the top bolts thats notoriously a PITA to access.

Its a Grade-8 17mm hex head with a length of 7.5cm, and fine thread.

I'm even throwing in some pictures... If anyone can help me find this I'd really appreciate it. I can't believe how much of a pain in this ass this has been, and all I want to do is get my freaking car put back together now

If I find an extra bolt in my shed that have those dimensions I can ship it to you.

Thank you, that may be the best bet. Let me know I guess; I think this is what it's coming to lol... I couldn't believe that even the Honda dealership didn't have it.

I may try calling them again because that just doesn't seem right to me. The parts guy really rubbed me the wrong way too though, just sounded insanely apathetic about his job lol. I guess that's most people on a Friday though.

Edit: I'm also kinda just considering re-using this bolt, but I think that would be a very bad idea considering how badly rounded off it is now (don't know if you can tell in the pictures). If I EVER have to take this thing back off again it's going to be bad news all over.

The dealer will only typically stock parts that get sold over and over, ones that break commonly, etc. Rarely would you get someone to come in looking for that bolt, so therefore they wouldn't stock it. You should be able to find a similar one at a hardware store, or a place like Fastenal.

do you have any fastener shops in the area, any good fastener shop could get one, you just need to add a washer as most Honda bolts have flared washer head on them. The upper bolts are 12 mm x 1.25 bolts, not sure the length measure it in millimetres, some are 40mm long and some are 50 mm long

Honda can order it and have it in a day or so.

Don't ask why, but all mounting bolts are in the "Auto Tensioner Bracket" subsection found here....

You're looking for part number 14 (95701-12065-08)

Jesus, don't get me started on the Fastner shop lol. The first few shops I went to recommended that I check them out, so I did; When I arrived, I found they had a TON of Grade-8 hex head hardware for every application you could think of for standard/imperial system vehicles... and not a single damn metric bolt to be found. An employee told me they don't stock any metric at all in that store!

In retrospect, I think I may have just confused the Honda parts dealer that I was talking with; I think I did a poor job of describing what I was looking for. The bolt in question was the 17mm hex hed/40mm long (and probably the 12mm as you described on the actual bolt width, not the head).

Still though, I personally scoured these other stores and found nothing lol.

I ended up just re-using the old bolt that I showed in my OP. I relocated this bolt to a lower part of the trans so if worse comes to worse, it will hopefully be slightly easier to pull it back out... Fingers crossed that doesn't have to happen for many thousand more miles lol.

CC stage 4 disk and pressure plate are now in the car, with an OEM resurfaced flywheel Clutch feels like it's grabbing good, and everything seems like it went back together perfectly (knock on wood).
