Default Capping Coolant Lines

I have removed my heater box and the tubing it used. What is the best/safest way to cap the lines near the engine?

I don't have my manual handy, but can you run a loop? It should come out of the engine, into the heater, then back to the radiator. Can you simply run back to the rad straight from the motor?

I've just made my own work around. Using the stock heater valve to close it off.

Patrick: Less hopefully.
