Default Car blipping by itself???!?!

Hi, I tried doing a search but I did not find anything helpful. Today my father test drove my car and after a short drive we had to stop to pick something up. Anyway after starting the car and traveling a short distance, the cars RPM started fluctuating like it was trying to instigate a race by itself? It would not stop "blipping" until we turned off the car and restarted it. I'm going to take it to the dealers to have it checked out but I'm not sure if I can reproduce the problem. Not that I want to. Any help would be most appreciated thanks!

Hmmmm. . .never really heard of this issue before. Have the dealer run a system check for any codes. Might be the VTEC spooler. I had mine replaced under warranty on my old S2000 because of irregular idling. Stopped it good with a new one.

Ask the folks over on the "Under the Hood" forum, they should know. Just title your thread/post "? for s2k gurus..." It worked when I had my engine questions. And they were/are s2k gurus.

Guess you have to be a little more precise in what you mean by blipping. Does it idle "rough" (the rpms waver up and down when you are at a stop light and off the gas, ~900 rpms) or does it stutter when you are in the low range (~2000-3000 rpms) or does it "burp" and stutter at full throttle at higher rpms (~4000-9000).

All could be different problems but I think with a little more clarity we can figure out what it is... or at least have heard of it!

I get this sometimes when it's cold out, 40 degrees F or so. It seems to go away as soon as the engine warms up so I haven't worried about it
