Default Car Bogs advice needed

I just purchased a 2000 Gwp S2000. I've ran into my first problem as of last night. I was getting in my car and put the car in first gear and as I was driving, It started to bog around 2000-3000k. its a hard bog. But after that it drives fine. The previous owner put a fujita cai and made the fitment smaller so the filter sits right behind the radiator fan. So today i went ahead and changed out the plugs ju a best to see if maybe it was the plugs. It wasn't so then I put on the stock air intake on (the top vacum hose is to small where can i get a bigger one?) This still didnt fix the problem. I did the map whack too. What can it be? any advice? New map sensor? oyea my check engine light came out cause i cant fit one of the vacum hose on.

If that filter is between your radiator and the engine, your running on pure hot air - you will bog and lose power - particularly after the car warms up. If that is the problem, you should relocate the intake. I'm not a fan of the Fujita, but I beleive most people place it low in the front bumper behind one of the side vents.

Did you get that vacuum hose on yet? If you still need one, you can get some at autozone. We want to rule out all the obvious first.

Hmm..might be possible I suppose. I guess the only thing to try now is to replace the alternator, and see if the problem is still there. If it is, come back and let us know so we can look into it further.

The popping at idle is a misfiring most likely. I batted that one for a while and it turned out to be the injectors as they seem to go early in some cases with these cars. You can have them cleaned or even just by a used set like I did. I could not believe that was the problem however it fixed the popping instantly.
