the towing company most likely has a warning that "they are not responisble for damages" posted in there office and in every truck.
Just because someone puts up a sign does not make it true. I don't know the law for towing companys, but that would determine responisbilty not a sign in the office.

Sorry to hear about it. If it was bad to tow the car the manual would tell you. Like it tells you not to drive with the spare on the rear since it can trash the diff.

I *think* you are probably OK.

they have to be honest with you about how they towed it otherwsie we will never know if it was okay.

at this point...if it drives fine, then good luck.

i've been towed multiple times, and they tell me it was rolled with the front wheels.

The thing is that the front end of the s2000 is so long that if it was towed by the real, the front bumper would probably contact the ground.

it doesn't matter how long the front end is...

it's the length of from the front wheel.

the front wheel sits very far out to the front. so much so that the entire longitudinally mounted engine sits behind the axle.

This is the use of a "dolly system" When they are towing a RWD car that has to be towed from the front.

It should not mess anything up at all.

My S was towed at a friend's condo a few years back after he directed me to park in the wrong space. Fortunately the tow lot was literally directly across the road.

They damaged the front bumper lifting it up, and I questioned how they towed it because it's rear-wheel drive. The guy there argued that is wasn't rear wheel drive, and when I got angry, he said "fine, we towed it out of the garage on dollys, then changed it to a flatbed outside the underground parking garage. Happy?"

I was pissed and went through a huge process to pursue them for the damage to the front bumper from where a chain rubbed on the bottom when they lifted it up. My diff hasn't had any problems, and that was a long time ago. But it was also a short distance.

So did you ever get anything out of them Mikey? I found paint scraped off some on the front fender but I don't know if they did it since I haven't had the car for a while...I picked it up from FL. I don't remember seeing anything like that but I didn't examine it super close

ahaha no problem!
The dolly system is pretty much 4 parts... 2 long pieces of metal that act as the axle which connect at both ends and 2 wheel parts which hold 2 wheels each side. They put it all together with the car on the ground and then use a long rod and with one motion from front to back it raises the dolly axles so ure wheels are now resting on the 2 metal axles! Badda Bing badda boom! That's how it's done with no damage!
