Just went to lunch and car started making some weird noise like something is switching on and off or popping right near the firewall almost sounds like its in the dashboard. I checked the oil and it smells like gasoline.

I was told I may have a bad fuel pressure regulator

 

Take it to a dealer, it could be anything. There isn't enough information in your post to even guess what it could be.

 

Car started up after work just fine and runs perfect. ?? Gonna get that smelly oil outta there today and hope for the best
