Car keeps dying on me while driving!
Hey guys I have a 2003 ap1 w/ 177,xxx miles.I have never had a problem with this car ever until now!
June,15,2011-It started about a month ago when I was driving,my stereo stopped playing and started to flicker on/off,as I keep driving my EPS light turns on,so I pull over turn off the car,then it won't start so I have to get it jump started.About 30 mins into my drive everything on the car begins to shut down(dash)and car begins to slow down even while im on the gas,attempt to jump start it but it only gets down one block so i get towed home.I go home and take the alternator and battery to autozone and alternator tests bad.I buy a rebuilt one and everything is fine.
July,10,2011-I'm driving my car for about 25 miles,which is the longest since my alternator went bad and the same thing starts happening,but I manage to make it to my destination and turn it off and then try to turn it back on but no good.I go to do my 8hr. shift and come back turn my car on(i guess it was able to recharge during that time).About a mile in the same symptoms as before but this time it was night(stereo first,EPS second,dash third,lights fourth,slows down and turns off).I get towed home.
The next day I get the rebuilt alternator tested and battery(recharged and tested)as well,both are good.I put them back in and car is good.
July,30,2011-Same thing happens while I'm at a store, the stereo lights started flicking as I got off the freeway and I head straight home because I know whats about to happen,I make it home turn car off and it will not start.I go to auto zone to get them tested again and they are both good.
Can anybody help me out here?I got my battery replaced under warranty just to make sure yesterday and am going to get another alternator tomorrow even though it tests good.
I am completely clueless on this!BTW the only electrical thing I've added to my car since i got it was foglights,but that had never been an issue.

when replacing parts im not a big fan of "rebuilt" items. would you get a rebuilt car? what about a rebuilt engine? get a new battery. if that dont work. get a new alternator. thats just my opinion.
