Car randomly shutting off
Car is a 2001 with a 2005 swap, vortex have supercharged running an aem series 1, ID1300's, SOS map sensor (zip tied).. Car is randomly shutting off while driving and not immediately starting back up.. Extremely random.. Car will shut off and not restart, then it'll start, sputter and die. Then it'll start and run normal.. The ground wire going from the battery to the firewall was extremely hot at one point as well. Bad map sensor? TPS? Ground? Any input would be appreciated!
Are you running a aftermarket map sensor ? My car went through this last year and in the end it turned out to be a bad SOS map sensor . To determine this i had to plug in the laptop and monitor all the engine sensors and wait for it to act up . After much time sitting there idling it acted up . For me the map sensor voltage was going ape shit for a second and the car would die . Sometimes it would start back up and other times it would take several minutes .If you are running a factory map sensor then i doubt that would be your problem . Your going to need to plug in a laptop to the aem and sit there waiting for it to act up . I simply went to the tuning screen to monitor the engine sensors . You will more than likely find what the problem is there . Good luck .
