Default Car Shimmy

I was reading the "For those with Shakes and those who have the clicking rear" posts. It sounds somewhat similar to one of the issues I am having with my s2k. At highway speeds you can literally feel the car "wobble" or "shimmy" if you will. Its not really a vibration you can just feel the back end of the car (so it seems) wobble when turning at a slight left angle, and now it seems to do it under acceleration in a straight line jsut not as bad. It feels like something is about to come off under the car, something has to be loose. I know that unless you really know what is up with the suspension on this car, or endured this same issue that its kinda hard to diagnose the problem, once again, jsut would like to know, if someone doesnt know exactly what the problem is, what it could be. ARGH, this car is giving me the combo of problems. Still love it tho.

I expect you have already done so, but did you check rear tire pressure?

yea, they were slightly off but i adjusted them. I did however notice uneven tire wear on rear passenger side, could this be the cause of all this? An offrounded tire?

I'd be looking at the "hub nut" issue or a bad CV joint. Uneven tire wear could indicate a balancing problem or alignment problem.

What kind of uneven tire wear? Patches of excessive wear? Wear on the inside? Outside?

It could be something as simple as camber/toe adjustment or a wheel balance.

Patches, actually just one patch on the outside of the rear tire, about 4-6" of a bald spot, rest of the tread is starting to get down there but not bad tho. The car DOES need an alignment so Im sure thats not helping the situation, ok so a hubnut or bad cv joint. Ill check those out next week when my mechanic gets back from out of town, would it be ok to drive it until then??

I noticed a very similar problem on my car, where the rear of the car felt wobbly at speed. Luckily this was right around the time when I was at Evolution getting my diff swapped with m777erlin's, and while the car was on the lift the mechanic pointed out that one of the stabilizer links was broken. This is a small barbel looking piece that connects the sway bar to the wheel arm. It was a good thing he noticed cuz I never would have realized. I ordered the piece online for about $40, put it on, and now everything is fine. In addition to inspecting the other parts mentioned above, you may want to inspect the links as well.

something tells me thats the issue because thats exactly how it feels, like something is loose or broken.
