Default Car Suddenly Died and Won't Crank

I was driving and made a shift from 1 -> 2 at 8500 RPM and then shifted from 2 -> 3 at about 6800 RPM. I slowly started to engine brake and eased on the brake to enter a corner and heel-toe downshift. As I WOT'd I started hearing a sound coming from the engine bay. I wasn't sure if this sound was my friend who was driving behind me, or if it was my car. The sound that I heard sounded EXACTLY like the TCT going bad (for those who don't know the sound, it sounds like putting a card into a moving bicycle wheel). I immediately pulled over because we were already at the place we were eating at. After we stopped, I propped the hood up and let the oil drain to check the oil level. I checked it and the oil level read 3 x's up on both sides. Keeping in mind it was a warm engine I had to factor in 1 x. But even still, the oil level is fine. I let the car cool down and took it for a drive around the block just to make sure it was indeed my car making the sounds. I noticed immediately at around 3000 RPM the sound would come back but, anything over or under 3000 RPM it was fine. Sounded perfectly fine, no power loss or anything. At this point I just figured it was the TCT going bad so I figured after I ate I would go home and read up on the TCT DIY fix on S2Ki.

This was not the case however. On the way home I had to drop a friend off since the house was on the way. I noticed the sound didn't stop above 3000rpm now and there was a sudden loss of power and about 10 seconds later the car's RPM just dropped and stalled. I figured it might've been the ECU adjusting (it's happened before) so I clutched in and hit the start button, didn't work. Since I was in a relatively high speed area and didn't want to get hit, I immediately put it into gear and popped the clutch to start it again, didn't work. I pulled over into a nearby church parking lot where I checked the battery. Everything electrical was working fine. I tried starting the car again but it would crank once and then just stop. I have owned this car for about 22000km's (about 13700 miles) and have never once over-rev'd it if that helps.

Any ideas? I would try to do a compression test but I don't think it'd work since the car won't crank...

just because you haven't over-revved it.........
Its a MY00 anything is possible. I would assume that a DTC has been thrown?

Whats the total mileage on the car?

Mine had a similar experience, except a coil pack went bad and took out a spark plug, did you check yours?

I haven't checked my spark plugs... I'll do that now. I also just checked the DTC. I'm getting P0325, which is a knock sensor circuit malfunction. I've had this code for a while and it just comes and goes.

Pull spark plugs out. Since you have a MY00 there was a recall on the spark plugs going loose after a period of time. Pull out the spark plugs and make sure they didn't disintegrate. Keep us posted with your findings

Check your valve retainers. I hope you didn't drop a valve. Knock sensor will put ECM in limp mode I believe which will limit RPM.

My car already had the spark plug recall done. I still checked the spark plugs though. They looked pretty bad so I just replaced them and tried starting the car. No luck. As for the mileage of my car, I have just over 150,000 km's which is about 93,200 miles.
