Symptoms:

9000 RPM in 3rd gear @ full throttle...
hit fuel cut..
back end broke loose...
put the clutch in & shifted to 4th...
loss of all power...
then down shifted while slowing down and continued to bog...
pulled over and put the car in neutral...
Car died.

Will not start at all.
No check engine light, no codes, (prev. PO420 code for 2-3 wks), EPS light on.

Fuel pump pressurizes, no fp numbers yet.
Car cranks but does not start.
Checked plugs @ 1mm gap, 4k miles on motor.
When cranking, sounded like 1-2-3-? 1-2-3-? as if there was low compression on one cylinder.

No mechanical issues heard right before car died.

 

checked hoses to fpr & return fuel lines.
tested fpr w/ no vacuum and w/ vacuum.

 

Have a compression tester? Pop the valve cover and see if all the valve springs are still there. PO420 is an emissions/cat related code so I don't think it matters.
