car wont start
ok so i built a low compression 9.5 motor over the winter, and have put her all back together but now it wont start. i pulled the e-manage and put it back on the stock ecu, and stock injectors, then did a compression test and got 119-150-119-153 now i know that isn't good and only thing i can think of is the timing is off as i did it kinda quick so there is a good change but just wondering if there is any other thing i might have forgotten? this is a brand new motor so i doubt the rings are bad. any other input is appreciated...
I know it's getting fuel as the plugs all had gas on them.... spark i need someone to help me test.... and the compression numbers are cold would that make a difference on how they aren't close?
My friend had a similar issue after changing the timing chain on his saturn... The car would crank and crank, dump fuel after more fuel, but wouldn't start... He did verify he had spark too...
He finally was ready to give up and he asked me to take a look...as I hadn't been up there to lend hand on the swap and I am the normal wrench for them...
He cranked over and over and to me it sounded like it wanted to start, so I had him floor it (thinking he flooded the engine with fuel), sure enough the car fired up. He took his foot off and it stalled, had him do it again but hold the car at 2g then let it go to idle... Once he did that the car idle fine, but SMOKED out his garage, he had flooded it so bad there was raw fuel in the exhaust that took 5 or 6 minutes to clear out...

I tried pushing the pedal to the floor trick already
and i know there is fuel in there now as it wont start i think the timing is off a tooth hence y there is bad compression in 2 cylinders... i need to redo the timing chain but thanks for the ideas...

I wouldn't recommend this, but I used to this when I flooded race engines that I built. When I was sure there was too much fuel in the cylinder I would stick a flame in there and wait for the little explosion. Keep in mind the spark plug is out so the total pressure build up is minuscule when compared to normal operation. But there are things that can go wrong, so don't try this unless your sure about what your doing.
