car wont start in the cold, again...
hey guys, i've been havign this problem for a while now and i can't seem to find the problem. if you guys can help that would be great.
when i try to start my car in cold mornings, which isn't even that cold, prob from 12 degrees to 15 degrees, it won't start.
when i try to turn on the car, i can't hear the fuel pump prime, the engine turns over but won't start. but later on in the day when it gets warmer, it works again. first i thought my fuel pump was dying, so i changed it, and the same problem occurs. i checked my ignition coils, and checked spark plugs which all seems to be fine. the main thing is, when it doesn't start, i can't hear the fuel pump prime.
if it matters, all i've done to my motor is basic bolt ons, with ngk iriway spark plugs, and i just replace the fuel pump with a oem replacement fuel pump, and i changed the fuel pump relay with a replacement i picked up from the junk yard.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Jon

Yeah, 2003... could you still be on the original battery? My 04's battery is weak now and is in need of replacement before it gets cold again; this might be the case for you as well if you haven't replaced it yet.

MY00 didnt want to start one cold morning and I had 2 bars left of gas. I filled up later in the day. The next morning it was about the same temp if not colder and it started just fine.
Check your gas level (moisture in tank)

water in gas tank? also when you say degrees is that in celcius or farenheit? 12-15 degrees farenheit is pretty damn cold.
moisture, or water in the tank could be a possibilty because i only drive it once or twice a week, but would moisture in the tank stop the fuel pump from priming?
thanks for all the tips everyone

If this would happen to me (a non-priming fuel pump, turning over and not starting) I would be looking at the immobiliser.
As if the key is not recognised by the system.
But I have no clue what temperature has to do with it.
Maybe test with all the keys that come with the car, even the grey one?
