car wont start in the cold, again...

I want to bump this thread for any other ideas on what is causing this problem of the fuel pumps not priming. 2 days in a row my car won't start in the morning(around 40-50 degrees) but when I get home from work and the temperature is around 80+ degrees, the fuel pumps prime and the car starts right up. Right now on the relay I am using a 30amp fuse and I have a yellow optima battery. Strange that I am experiencing this problem after never having the problem for the 1yr I've had the car.

But my problem is with the fuel pumps not priming. I've disconnected the ECU plugged it back together, tried starting it and they still won't prime. But when the weather heats up, the car magically starts right up on the first crank.

I don't remember if you can hear the stock pump prime or not but it could be the integrated fuel filter. I ran across these articles the other day.
This article is misleading cause there are no aftermarket filters for the stock fuel system AFAIK but it does highlight a similar problem.

For $45, you could at least eliminate the filter as the cause.

I know it sounds dumb but try another key as stated above. I have seen other brands of cars have an issue with the key when cold. Worth a shot. Also try getting gas at a different place. Mine when I used to get gas at this one place it would not start on first try when cold. May be worth pulling the fuel line going to the fuel rail and seeing if it gets pressure when they key turns on. Try of course to find a way to do this where it's not going to spray all over the place. I know I can hear my pump prime, but I can't remember if I can still hear it when it's cold outside.

My Car is a Diva
I have a similar issue with my S2000. When I first got it, it was my only car so I had to drive it on some cold days. I worked nights and one time when I went to leave in the morning it did nothing. Jumping didn't help. As soon as the sun peeked over the building it started right up. A few years later I had it in a detached garage and it did the same thing. I put a space heater pointing under the front of the car for a little while and it started right up. I don't think it is the battery because the first time it could not have been a change of more than a few degrees. I have a Grand Cherokee for the winter now, so the S just stays in the garage when there is a chance it might strand me.
