car wont start without OBD Scan Tool
I was driving on the highway and suddenly hit a small bump. Immediately the rpms jumped up and the car stalled. When i tried to turn it back on it turned on for a second or so and died immediately. As it stalled the check engine came on and upon dying it disappeared. So I thought I would connect the OBD scan tool and see whats going on, but when I did that the car ran fine. The second i disconnect the tool the car dies. No idea what's going on???
Im checking the wiring on the car and have found this:
The circuit that the obd2 connector is on has a short. i checked for voltage at the a10(obd2-ecm signal line known as the K-line) ecm connector and it is supposed to have battery voltage when the key is in the second position, but it does not. Furthermore, the KS is on an open circuit with the body of the car. This tells me that that there is a problem somewhere with a ground connection. The obd2 plug on the car has its own ground so connecting the obd2 presumably grounds that circuit and allows function. does this all make sense?
does anyone know where i can or should start checking for failed ground connections?
Is it possible that the secondary pgmf relay is blown. I hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system upon key in position 3 so te primary relay is working....
thanks.

the screw that holds the g101 in place was loose and wasnt generating a ground. I'm not sure how it came to that but the bump was prob the final vibration. Looking back at the wiring schematic and the symptoms it seems obvious, but it took me a whole day to find...
