Default Carbotech Bobcat 1521 pads?

I'm about to buy a set of front pads for our '03 Pilot, and thinking ahead for pads for my '06 S2K. Hearing good things about the oem pads, but still wondering whether the Carbotech Bobcat 1521 ceramic pads, their street pads, might be better. If anyone has tried these pads, I'd appreciate feedback on stopping performance, especially modulation, as well as wear and rotor friendliness.

I'm looking for the best pads for street driving on stock rotors, with occasional spirited bursts, not track or autoX.

One more thing - Carbotech says you need to change rotors if they've been used with other pads. Is this really necessary if they are in good condition? Couldn't I just do the bedding procedure with them?

If you are just street driving, keep the oem.

I'be had the Bobcats...decent mix use pad for street/autox but they can get hot quickly on the track. They will dust a good bit more than the oem. They are rotor friendly however.

It's OK to bed those pads in on rotors used with other pads. Make sure to get them nice and hot so the old material wears off

I have a set of Bobcats for sale, actually. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=439781

Pretty comparible to OEM pads. Good for the street. Not suitable for the track. They don't dust any more than OEM, IMO. Don't work any better. But don't work any worse, either.

Thanks all, for the feedback. I think I'll go with oem pads.

Have done back to back tests...the Bobcats resist fade significantly better than the OEM. And the g-meter (I know...not the best yardstick) shows shorter stopping distance after the first brake manuever. Not a giant difference but enough to consistantly be noticed.

Dunno...mine dusted pretty bad compared to oem...ymmv.
