Has anyone played with caster? Is there room to go above 6D as recommended? Any reason why not? My aim would be to improve steering feel.

I'm at 8D castor and they told me that's all she'll render. Turn in is excellent!!!

I have gone the other way, reducing caster to get more negative camber which improves front end grip and reduces lap times and tire wear. Reducing rear toe in and adding front toe out improves steering and overall balance. Actually setting values depend on driving style, skill level and tire choice, of course, so you need to experiment to find something that is most comfortable to you.

I don't think increasing caster will give you more feel. Caster has the effect of stabilizing the car by increasing the tendency to return to center (straight ahead). A little more camber will make the car turn more agressively, at the expense of increased inside shoulder wear. The stock settings are great for all around street use. A small amount of toe out up front will make the car turn in quicker, at the expense of a bit of wander (you have to drive the car to keep it straight). It's all about compromises, and what kind of "feel" you are looking for.

Mamba, I agree with your comments. Regarding the wander issue, I was worried also, but at -2 degrees of camber, 5.8 degrees of caster and 1/8 inch of toe out total I get no wander whatsoever on a fully stock car with factory tires. Just a nice, light, responsive feel which I enjoy.

Sometimes, I wish I had my own alignment machine to try out the different settings...
