Default Castrol Syntec - good stuff

I recently switched to Castrol Syntec and I highly recommend this oil. Before I was using Mobil 1 and burned at lot of oil. With Syntec, the consumption is less. However, that isn't the main point of my recommendation. In terms of engine smoothness, sound and seat of the pants feel, the engine is performing better than it was with Mobil. The sheer smoothness with the revs are up near 6000 - 8000 is just music.

From other posts on here about oil, Syntec seems to have a very good anti-wear additive package. It is also a bit more viscous than Mobil 1 when they are both 10W30.

People should give Syntec a try if they are curious to an alternative for Mobil 1.

After reading the oil journals on this site, It seems as though the Amsoil oil (synthetic) is better. Any thoughts on that?

right now I think RR uses the havoline GF4 dino oil. he said in terms of performance it's just as good as synthetic.

For my Honda S2000... Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 all the way. For my wife's 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring Model... Castrol Syntec 5W-30 and by the way I never like Mobil 1.

"Cialis all the way! it was much better experience! Never liked Viagra!"

Hmmmm

If $54,000 Spec GT3R engine uses Mobil 1 Synthetic to protec the internals, it is fine for my S2000 as well.

If a $40,000,000 737 burns kerosene, then it's fine for my S2000 as well. I only fuel up with JetA!

and if Kobe Bryant wears $200 nike shoes, then they are good enough for me too.

and if tiger woods uses a $500 putter, then I should too.

and if Brett Favre uses a $100 cup to protect his nuts, then that's definitely what I'm going to use too!

i think you get the point....

<<<<< amsoil advocate.

whens the last time any of you picked up a quart of amsoil 10/30, and a quart of any other oil. try mobil 1. dude. WOW. what a diiference.the quart of amsoil is like holding a feather. i am a big nutcase about rotating mass, lighten it, and you will haul ass. i have ran many oils in my s2k, in my diff, trans, and motor. neo works quite well, it is lite as hell. problem is, its made to be changed alot, and is race oil. so ive been following RR's tests, and using my own butt dyno, to see what works best.
i love my amsoil is all i will say. amazing. though it is made from an ester base, i burn alot less than i do redline. formulation must be better... RR?
